testing/verifying i'll be connecting the right leads on the PCB to the 3.5mm jack
cut existing heat shrink
existing cable removed
verifying fit for the new jack. didn't want too small of a radius on existing wires, so opted to replace.
the soldering setup
how i ran the wires to the jack
first wire soldered
all wires soldered
heat shrink on first wire
heat shrink on remaining wires
loosened PCB for flexibility
existing wires removed
verifying fit and length of new jack/wires
ready to solder! note the added loose heat shrink, once the other ends of the wires are soldered, heat shrink can't be added
wires soldered to PCB
heat shrink shrunk
PCB reinstalled to housing, external view of 3.5mm jack
housing installed
finished. sounds great! and now with a removable cable!
